Work on the play began in 2021 as a co-production between the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek and the Multimedia Cultural Center in Split as the graduation project of Nikolina Odobašić, under the mentorship of Jasmin Novljaković and Alen Ćelić, and is now being performed under the production of the Theater compan Susret.
The non-verbal circus performance Together is an original project by Nikolina Odobašić, a master of non-verbal theater, and Marijan Josipović, an actor and puppeteer. It has a unique artistic expression that combines the skills of mime, acting, clowning, dance, and juggling and acrobatic elements. These elements convey a simple, everyday story about complex human relationships, evolving on stage from antagonism to love. The idea was to explore themes of friendship and interpersonal relationships in the form of an immersive performance.
The final scene is particularly important, where the performers dance with poi props and hand out props to children who come on stage to dance and learn new skills. The play is conceived in a performance-workshop format, as it always ends with a meeting between the performers and the children, giving them their first moments on stage with juggling props.
The performance has been featured at the Input Festival in Karlovac, the Abracadabra Festival in Rovinj, the Courtyard of Ideas in Vinkovci, Artomania in Osijek, Reuma in Slavonski Brod, the Days of the City District of Tvrđa, the International Ethno Meetings in Bilje, and the Treća Koza Festival in Ližnjan.
