Slučaj Vidra: Dundo Maroje

“The Vidra Case: Dundo Maroje” is a performance in the form of a lecture performance that explores and popularizes Marin Držić, one of the key cultural and political figures of the Renaissance in this region, through the interpretation of one of the greatest works of Croatian literary canon—his comedy Dundo Maroje.

A self-proclaimed truth-seeker and obsessive investigator on the brink of conspiracy theories will introduce the audience to the life and works of Marin Držić, igniting imaginations and blurring the lines between fiction and fact. The performance delves into topics such as the phenomenon of fake news, why we struggle to preserve our own heritage, and why we can proudly say that Shakespeare is the English Držić, and Molière the French…

The program is supported by co-funding from Osijek-Baranja County and in collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek.
